What happens if a fire or a tornado destroys my house

It all depends on your insurance policy, the endorsements made part of that policy and other variables that can affect your settlement. Some insurance companies offer a ’building code’ upgrade endorsement.

Which, means any upgrades needed from a local building code official, would be paid for, under the limit stated in that endorsement. The limit can vary from policy- to- policy, so you should always check your ’Declarations’ page when referring to Forms and Endorsements. Usually, located about three quarters of the way down the declarations page or on the backside.

Call your agent today and ask if this type of endorsement is available. If not, then think about getting it.
